Bridegroom Returns

Bridegroom Returns - A Christian Rap - Bridegroom Returns is structured on the ten-step pattern of the ancient Jewish wedding, read as the blueprint for the "marriage of the Lamb" described in Revelation 19:7–9 and the mystery of Christ and the Church in Ephesians 5:25–32. Each section of the song follows one stage of that pattern and its corresponding Scripture.

The opening steps the bride chosen and the price paid draw on Ephesians 1:4, John 15:16, 1 Corinthians 6:20, and Ephesians 5:25. The betrothal and cleansing steps rest on Matthew 26:28, 2 Corinthians 11:2, and 1 Corinthians 6:11. The groom's departure to "prepare a place" comes from John 14:2–3. The long central section the bride waiting, watching, and preparing her garment is built on the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1–13 and the fine-linen imagery of Revelation 19:8. The sudden arrival is 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, and the ceremony, the marriage supper, and the eternal union follow Revelation 19:7, Revelation 19:9, and Revelation 21:2. Every reference is listed below in the order the song travels through them.
